Rewrite AIRewrite AIThe app is not recording. Rewrite AI needs microphone and speech recognition permission. Open Settings › Rewrite AI on your iPhone and switch on Microphone and Speech Recognition. If you declined during onboarding, this is where you turn it back on.
The transcript is empty or wrong. Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. It struggles with heavy background noise, several people talking at once, and languages your iPhone has not downloaded. Recording closer to the speaker makes the biggest difference.
Does my audio get uploaded? No. Recordings stay on your iPhone. Only the text you explicitly send for an AI action is transmitted. See the Privacy Policy.
An AI action failed. Cloud AI needs a connection. If you are offline or the service is busy, the app falls back to an on-device summary so you are not blocked. Try again on a better connection.
It is slow. Long transcripts take longer to summarise. Summarising a section rather than a two-hour recording is much faster.
The summary got something wrong. Speech recognition and AI models both make mistakes, sometimes confidently. Always check the output before you rely on it — and never rely on it for medical, legal or financial decisions.
Calendar access is optional and read-only — it is used only to label a recording with the meeting it belongs to. The app works fully without it. Turn it on or off in Settings › Rewrite AI › Calendars.
Restore a purchase. Tap Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen or in Settings inside the app. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it with.
Cancel a subscription. Open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone and select Rewrite AI. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds. Apple processes all App Store payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com — we are not able to issue App Store refunds ourselves.
I was charged but Premium is not active. Tap Restore Purchases first. If that does not work, email us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out.
Your notes and recordings live on your device. Delete an individual item inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its local data. There is no account to close, because Rewrite AI does not have accounts.
