Rewrite AIRewrite AIThis Privacy Policy explains how Rewrite AI ("Rewrite AI", "we", "us"), an app from Approtic, handles information when you use our iOS or Android application. Rewrite AI is built to keep as much of your content on your own device as possible.
Rewrite AI does not ask you to create an account. There is no sign-up, no login, no password, and no profile. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or date of birth, and we hold no user record that could identify you.
Some features need a cloud AI model, because the model is too large to run on a phone. When — and only when — you tap an AI action such as Summary, Fix grammar, Polish, Expand, Shorten, Summarise transcript, or send a message in the AI chat, the following happens:
We do not attach your name, email address, phone number, advertising identifier, or location to these requests. Android requests include a random app-generated client identifier used for service operation and abuse prevention; it is not linked to your identity. We do not store the text of your requests or the generated results on our servers, and we do not use your content to train any model. Google processes the text under its own terms as our service provider.
If a request fails or you are offline, no text is transmitted and cloud AI features remain unavailable until a connection is restored.
The iOS version may include an optional field where you can supply your own Anthropic (Claude) API key. If you choose to do this, submitted text is sent directly from your device to Anthropic under your account and Anthropic's terms, and your key is stored only in the iOS Keychain. We never receive your key. This option is not used on Android.
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store on iOS and by Google through Google Play on Android. We never see or store your payment card, billing address, Apple ID or Google Account credentials. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status. RevenueCat uses a random app-generated identifier that is not linked to your identity and receives the purchase and renewal information needed to provide that service. Because your content lives on your device, you control retention. Delete an individual note or recording inside the app, or delete the app to remove its local data. We hold no server-side copy of your notes, recordings or transcripts to delete. Since Rewrite AI has no accounts, there is no account for us to close. To request deletion of service data associated with the random app-generated identifier or subscription support records, email support@approtic.in. We will verify and complete valid requests within 30 days, except for records we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, tax or transaction-dispute obligations.
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not hold identifiable personal data about you, we usually have nothing to return — but we will always respond. Contact support@approtic.in and we will reply within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Rewrite AI is rated 4+ and is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Because the app has no accounts and no social features, it does not collect personal information from any user. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
All network requests use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). An optional user-supplied API key, where available on iOS, is held in the iOS Keychain. Local app data is protected by the security controls provided by iOS or Android and by your device passcode. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The processing described in section 3 may take place on servers outside your country, including in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required, for these transfers.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice.
