Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026. This policy explains what WebMate processes, which third-party services it uses, and what never leaves your device.

In plain English

WebMate does not ask you to create an account. Your WhatsApp Web session runs in a web view on your device and we cannot read your chats.

We use a small number of third-party services to answer AI chat messages, send notifications, run subscriptions, measure app usage and attribute installs. Each is described below, with what it receives.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we are

WebMate is published on the App Store by VIIONR INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED, which is responsible for the app and for this policy.

WhatsApp Web

When you link WhatsApp, WebMate loads web.whatsapp.com in an Apple WebKit web view. Your messages, contacts and media travel directly between your device and WhatsApp. Session cookies and site data are stored by WebKit on your device. We do not receive, store or read them.

To help you link, WebMate may take an on-screen snapshot of the web view and use Apple's Vision framework on your device to locate WhatsApp's QR code. The snapshot is not saved or sent anywhere.

WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to your use of WhatsApp.

AI chat

Messages you type into AI chat, along with the earlier messages in that conversation that the app sends for context, go to our AI chat server. The server is hosted by Cloudflare on Cloudflare Workers. It passes your messages to Google's Gemini API, and Google, our AI service provider, processes them to generate a reply.

If Gemini is unavailable, the server generates the reply with an AI model run on Cloudflare Workers AI instead, so in that case Cloudflare processes your messages to generate the reply.

Do not include passwords, health, financial or other sensitive personal information. Google processes Gemini API requests under its Gemini API terms and privacy policy, and Cloudflare processes requests under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not store your AI chat messages on our server. To enforce message limits, the server keeps short-lived counters linked to a random install ID created by the app and to your IP address, and deletes them within about two days. If you subscribe, it also keeps your RevenueCat app user ID and whether your subscription is active for up to 7 days, to apply Premium limits.

Quotes and saved images

The quotes feed requests quotes from API Ninjas. The request does not include personal information.

If you save a quote as an image, WebMate asks for permission to add it to your Photos library. It does not read your existing photos.

Face ID and PIN lock

Face Lock uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework. Face ID and Touch ID data stay in your device's Secure Enclave; WebMate only receives a yes or no result.

If you set a PIN lock, the PIN and your security question answer are stored locally on your device. They are never sent to us.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, your device's push token is registered with Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and with iZooto, a push notification service, so we can send app notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Analytics and crash reports

WebMate uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. They receive app events, an app instance identifier, device model, iOS version, approximate location derived from IP address, and crash diagnostics.

Subscriptions and paywalls

Purchases are processed by Apple, and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage your Premium entitlement, and Superwall to display paywall screens.

These services receive an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status, device and OS information, country or locale, and paywall interactions.

Install attribution and tracking

We use AppsFlyer to measure which campaigns lead to installs and purchases. AppsFlyer receives device information such as IP address, device model and iOS version, plus app events such as install and purchase.

If you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, AppsFlyer also receives your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, the IDFA is not shared. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

The current version of WebMate does not include an advertising SDK and does not show third-party ads.

Retention

Data on your device stays until you delete it or delete the app. Third-party services keep data according to their own retention settings, and we ask them to keep it no longer than needed for the purposes above.

Crash reports and support

Apple may share aggregated or anonymised crash and usage data with us through App Store Connect if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings. That comes from Apple, not from code we added.

If you email us at Abhinay@approtic.in, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address, your message and any screenshots. We use it only to answer you and keep it only as long as needed for support, legal and business records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

To make a request, email Abhinay@approtic.in. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

WebMate is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We are based in India. Google, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Superwall, AppsFlyer, iZooto and API Ninjas may process data in the United States and other countries. We rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.

Changes

We may update this document when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
