Answers to the questions we get most, and a direct line to a human if none of them fit.
How is the Schengen 90 in 180 count calculated?
The Schengen rule allows up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period across the Schengen Area. Tidemark counts full or partial days you have marked as inside Schengen countries within the last 180 days, ending on today or on the date you are planning for. Rules and exceptions exist for visa holders, so treat the counter as a starting point and confirm with the official authorities before you travel.
Do I have to grant location access?
No. Location is optional. If you turn it on, Tidemark uses significant-location-change and visit monitoring to note when you enter or leave a country. If you leave it off, add trips manually and the rest of the app works the same way.
How does the photo memory-jog work?
If you turn it on, Tidemark reads the location and date metadata attached to photos you select and suggests past stays you might not have entered. The photos themselves are not uploaded or copied out of your library. You can revoke Photos access at any time in iOS Settings.
Widgets show old numbers, or do not update.
iOS decides when to refresh widgets, and it may pause them to save battery. Open Tidemark to force an update. If it is still stuck, remove the widget and add it again, or restart the phone.
How do I export a PDF report?
Open the country or counter you want and tap the export action to generate a PDF summary. Use the iOS share sheet to save it to Files, send it as email, or print. Nothing is uploaded automatically; you choose where the file goes.
How do I start or cancel Pro Annual?
Subscribe on the paywall inside the app. Cancel any time in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Tidemark. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access until the current period ends. If you are inside the 7-day free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged.
How do I restore Pro Lifetime?
Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings. iOS re-reads your entitlement from the App Store. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID that bought Lifetime.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all payments and refunds for App Store purchases and subscriptions, so we are not able to issue one. Request it at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID you bought with.
Are my trips backed up if I switch phones?
Tidemark stores trips locally on your device. If you restore a new phone from an encrypted iOS backup, your app data comes across as part of that backup. If you set up as a new device, that data will not be present.
