ISBN will not scan
Use the barcode on the back cover, improve lighting, clean the camera lens, or enter the ISBN manually.
Book details look wrong
Edit the saved title, author, pages, or cover. Include the ISBN when reporting incorrect public metadata.
Include useful details
Send the Shelfwise version, iOS version, device model, steps to reproduce, and a screenshot with personal notes removed.
Frequently asked questions
Does Shelfwise provide free ebooks?
No. ISBN scanning retrieves public identification metadata. Shelfwise does not provide copyrighted ebook or audiobook files.
Do I need an account?
No. Shelfwise v1 stores your library locally and does not require a Shelfwise account.
Does Shelfwise work offline?
Your saved library, TBR, notes, progress, sessions, and exports work locally. New searches and cover downloads require internet access.
Why was no book found for my ISBN?
Some editions are missing from public metadata sources. Check the digits, try search, or add the book manually.
How do I import Goodreads or StoryGraph?
Export a CSV from that service, then choose Add Books → Import in Shelfwise and select the file.
How do I back up my library?
Open Settings → Data and export CSV or JSON. Use the system share sheet to save it to Files or another location you control.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual books, or use Settings → Privacy → Delete all local data. Uninstalling Shelfwise also removes its local library, subject to Apple-controlled device backups.
